At Skin Plus Beauty, we know that unique patients need unique treatments. This is why we offer not one, but three different methods of microneedling in Pinecrest. You can experience traditional, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), or MesoBotox microneedling depending on your skin’s needs.
Traditional microneedling involves a handheld applicator that contains multiple tiny needles in its tip. When you come in for your appointment, we get you comfortable in our treatment room and numb your skin before applying the device to the treatment area. The needles puncture your skin, creating minuscule holes, known as micro-wounds.
These controlled injuries are just deep enough to trigger your skin’s healing response. This involves the increased production of collagen, the primary agent behind voluminous, firm skin.
As we age, collagen production goes down, leading to sagging skin in areas where the compound is now lacking. By increasing its production through microneedling, you can address multiple signs of aging through your body’s natural healing processes.
When you add PRP to this already effective treatment, you can boost the systems behind your overall youthfulness. While microneedling itself is already able to increase collagen production, PRP further boosts your natural healing. The plasma in this treatment comes from your own blood samples. As a result, injecting it allows the treated areas to more easily respond to its introduction.
Finally, MesoBotox is a cocktail of vitamins, peptides, and Botox that is only applied to the skin via microneedling rather than the muscles beneath. This will not alter your facial expressions to reduce wrinkles in the same way as the original, but it does help shrink pores and tighten skin. By adding additional skin-boosting ingredients to your MesoBotox appointment, you can target specific texture and tone concerns like wrinkles, redness, and the appearance of scars.
