The skin of your face is covered in fine hairs called vellus hairs, commonly referred to as peach fuzz. Some patients find this hair impacts their confidence when they look in the mirror and therefore opt to remove it. It can also make it harder to apply skincare products and makeup. Thankfully, this hair does not grow back thicker or darker after removal. Since peach fuzz is already lighter than other forms of body hair, you can expect the slow return of these hairs to be minimally visible.
On treatment day, your provider starts by getting you comfortable in our treatment room. After prepping your skin, they use a single-use surgical blade to gently remove the top layer of skin on your face. Not only does this remove vellus hairs, but it can be an effective alternative to manual exfoliation.
Some patients worry that the blade will cut their skin. No need to be anxious!
