CoolPeel is a CO2 resurfacing laser — the same gold-standard technology skin experts have trusted for decades — now delivered in a fast, comfortable way with little to no downtime. It treats only the surface layer, clearing away damaged tissue to reveal fresher, healthier-looking skin beneath.
Refined Resurfacing, Real Results
CoolPeel is a CO2 resurfacing laser — the same gold-standard technology skin experts have relied on for decades to soften fine lines, fade sun damage, and revive tired, uneven skin.
The difference is all in the delivery: precise, comfortable, and remarkably gentle. At Skin Plus Beauty, our licensed specialists bring that precision to Coral Gables — real resurfacing results with little to no downtime, and most clients are back to their day the same afternoon. That’s why the CoolPeel Laser in Coral Gables has become a favorite for skin that looks renewed, never overdone.
It has also earned the industry’s highest honor: NewBeauty’s Best CO2 Laser Treatment four years running, from 2023 through 2026. As NewBeauty describes it, CoolPeel “allows you to achieve dramatic rejuvenation without the extensive recovery time we think of being associated with traditional CO2 lasers.”

Here’s What You Can Count On
Step 1: Consultation
We start by getting to know you — your skin, your concerns, and the result you have in mind. From there, your specialist designs a CoolPeel plan built entirely around your goals.
Step 2: Treatment
A light numbing cream keeps you comfortable, then your specialist glides the CoolPeel laser across the skin. A full-face treatment takes just 5 to 15 minutes.
Step 3: Follow-Up
Once your skin has recovered, we check in on your progress and map out any future sessions to keep your complexion looking its best.
Get the Most From Your CoolPeel
-
Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning for at least two weeks beforehand, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ (UVA/UVB) every day.
-
Pause retinols and other potentially drying products 2–7 days before treatment, or as your provider directs.
-
Set aside exfoliating products — scrubs, glycolic and salicylic acids, and the like — in the days leading up to your appointment.
-
Avoid aspirin and blood-thinning supplements for seven days prior, unless your provider advises otherwise.
-
You'll need to be off Accutane for at least three months (or as directed by your provider).
-
If you're prone to cold sores, let us know in advance — we'll start you on an antiviral before treatment.
-
If you tend toward hyperpigmentation, your provider may have you use a melanin-suppressing (brightening) agent twice daily for two weeks beforehand.
-
Arrive with clean, bare skin for your CoolPeel Laser in Coral Gables appointment — no makeup, lotion, or sunscreen on the treatment area.
-
Expect a warm, sunburn-like sensation for 2–4 hours afterward. Mild redness and swelling are normal for 1–3 days.
-
Ease the heat with a cool misting spray or a clean, cool compress — never ice.
-
Once the heat fades, apply a light, alcohol-free, cream- or hyaluronic-acid-based moisturizer, reapplying every 3–4 hours to keep skin hydrated as it heals.
-
For the first 24 hours, use only the moisturizer your provider recommends — nothing else. If anything stings for more than a few minutes, gently rinse it off and let us know.
-
Your skin may feel like fine sandpaper for about 4–7 days. That's a normal part of healing — don't exfoliate, scrub, or pick at the texture.
-
Cleanse gently morning and night with a mild cleanser, then blot dry — no rubbing.
-
After 24 hours, protect your skin daily with a mineral (zinc/titanium-based) sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure.
-
Mineral makeup can go on after 48 hours, or whenever your provider okays it — always with clean applicators.
-
Skip exercise, sweating, saunas, hot tubs, and excess heat for 2–4 days.
-
Sleep with your head slightly elevated on a clean pillowcase, go easy on alcohol while you recover, and keep your hands away from the treated area.
-
You can usually return to your regular skincare after 24 hours, but hold off on retinols, acids, and exfoliants for 5–7 days, per your provider's instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Traditional CO2 lasers leave a great deal of lingering heat in the skin; CoolPeel doesn’t — that cooler, controlled delivery is exactly where it gets its name. You get genuine resurfacing results without the long recovery, and with far less risk of pigment changes, demarcation, or infection.
If you’d like to soften fine lines, fade sun damage and discoloration, refine pores, smooth uneven texture or mild acne scarring, or simply revive a dull complexion, the CoolPeel Laser in Coral Gables is likely a great fit. Not sure? A quick consultation will tell us for certain.
Most clients find CoolPeel quite comfortable. We apply a light numbing cream beforehand so you stay at ease from start to finish.
A full-face treatment runs just 5 to 15 minutes — short enough to slip into a busy Coral Gables afternoon.
Downtime is minimal. Expect a little pinkness, like a mild sunburn, for a day or two — most clients are back to their routine the same day. Skin can feel dry as it heals, so keeping it hydrated is important.
Not at all. It also works beautifully on the neck, chest and décolleté, hands, and back — anywhere you’d like to improve tone and texture.
