It is two Sciton laser treatments performed back to back in one appointment. BBL Heroic is broadband light — it passes through the surface to break up melanin in sun spots and shrink the small vessels behind persistent redness. CoolPeel is a fractional CO2 laser that removes a very thin layer of damaged surface skin, prompting fresh collagen as it heals.
One treats color, the other treats surface. Run together, they address what a decade of Florida sun does to skin from two directions at once.
Two Lasers, One Appointment
South Florida gives you sunshine twelve months a year, and your skin keeps the receipts: sun spots scattered across the cheeks, redness that never quite settles, texture that makeup sits on top of instead of smoothing over.
This pairing treats both halves of that problem in a single visit. BBL Heroic uses broadband light to break up pigment and calm the vessels behind persistent redness. The CoolPeel CO2 laser then resurfaces the very top layer of skin, refining texture, softening fine lines, and tightening the look of pores. Neither device does alone what the two do together — BBL corrects color, CoolPeel rebuilds surface.
Every BBL Heroic + CoolPeel CO2 Laser in Pinecrest treatment is performed by our licensed specialists on Sciton platforms we own and operate in-house, with settings chosen for your skin rather than a menu default.

Here Is How the Visit Goes
Step 1: Consultation
We look at your skin closely — where pigment sits, how much redness is vascular, how the texture reads — and ask about recent sun, medications, and cold sore history. If you have a tan, we will tell you honestly and reschedule; BBL cannot be run safely on recently tanned skin. You leave with a plan and a realistic picture of results.
Step 2: Treatment
We cleanse and apply numbing cream, then run BBL Heroic first — a series of bright light pulses with a cool sapphire tip, warm but manageable. CoolPeel follows on the same skin, passing quickly across the surface. Together the appointment runs about 45 to 60 minutes, most of it numbing time.
Step 3: Healing and Follow-Up
Treated spots darken to coffee-ground flecks over the next day or two and lift away within a week, while the resurfaced surface sheds fine and dry. We check in once you have healed to see how your skin responded and to time your next session if you are doing the series.
Getting the Most From Your Combo
-
Stay out of direct sun and skip tanning beds for 4 weeks before your appointment, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. BBL reads a tan as pigment, so recently tanned skin has to be rescheduled.
-
No self-tanner or bronzing lotion for 2 weeks beforehand — it affects the treatment the same way a real tan does.
-
Stop retinols, retinoids, and any drying actives 5 to 7 days before, or as your provider directs.
-
Put away scrubs, glycolic and salicylic acids, and at-home peels for 1 week prior.
-
Avoid aspirin and blood-thinning supplements for 7 days before, unless they were prescribed to you — check with your prescriber first.
-
You must be off Accutane for at least 3 months before treatment, or as directed by your provider.
-
If you get cold sores, tell us at booking. We will start you on an antiviral the day before as a precaution.
-
Come to your BBL Heroic + CoolPeel CO2 Laser in Pinecrest appointment with clean skin — no makeup, lotion, or sunscreen on the areas being treated.
-
Expect a warm, sunburn-like feeling for 2 to 4 hours afterward, with redness and mild swelling that typically settles over 24 to 72 hours.
-
Use a cool mist or a clean cool compress for comfort. Do not put ice directly on treated skin.
-
Sun spots will look darker before they look better — they turn to fine coffee-ground flecks and lift away on their own over roughly 5 to 10 days. Let them shed naturally; picking or scrubbing risks marks that outlast the treatment.
-
The resurfaced surface may feel like fine sandpaper for several days. That is the CoolPeel doing its job.
-
Cleanse gently and keep to a bland moisturizer while you heal. No actives, acids, or exfoliation.
-
Broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every single day, plus a hat and shade when you can. New pigment forms fastest on freshly treated skin, and unprotected sun will undo what you just paid for.
-
Skip makeup for the first 24 hours.
-
No exercise, sweating, saunas, hot tubs, or pools for 3 to 4 days.
-
Sleep with your head slightly elevated on a clean pillowcase for the first couple of nights, and go easy on alcohol while you recover.
-
Hold off on retinols, acids, and scrubs for 7 to 10 days, or until your skin has fully finished peeling.
-
Call us if you notice blistering, unusual pain, or anything that looks like infection. We would always rather hear from you early.
Frequently Asked Questions
Because the results compound and the downtime does not. Clearing pigment with BBL while resurfacing with CoolPeel gives a more complete correction than either device produces alone — spots and redness lift while texture, fine lines, and pore size improve on the same healing cycle.
Practically, it also means one numbing session, one recovery week, and one appointment instead of two. That is why we price the pair below the cost of booking them individually.
Yes, with planning. What matters is not the season but the state of your skin: BBL cannot be run safely over a fresh tan, so you need about four weeks of genuine sun avoidance beforehand and disciplined SPF afterward.
Plenty of our Pinecrest clients treat through the year by scheduling around beach trips and boat weekends. If you have something coming up, tell us at consultation and we will time it properly.
It is very manageable. We apply numbing cream before we start. BBL feels like a quick flick of heat with each pulse, cooled by a chilled sapphire tip, and CoolPeel feels warm and prickly for the few minutes it takes to pass over the skin.
Afterward the sensation is like a sunburn for a couple of hours, which a cool mist settles quickly.
Plan on 45 to 60 minutes door to door for a full face, and a good share of that is simply waiting for the numbing cream to take effect. The laser time itself is short.
Expect redness and mild swelling for one to three days, and skin that feels like fine sandpaper for several more. Treated sun spots darken into small coffee-ground flecks and flake away over roughly five to ten days — that shedding is the treatment working, not a problem.
Most people are comfortable in public within a couple of days and back to makeup after the first 24 hours. We would not schedule this the same week as a wedding or a photo shoot; give yourself two weeks of margin before anything you are being photographed for.
One paired session makes a visible difference, and many people start with a single treatment to see how their skin responds. Accumulated sun damage, though, generally answers to a series — three treatments about a month apart is our usual recommendation, which is why we offer the package.
After that, most clients maintain with a session or two a year, and with daily sunscreen those results hold well.
