Radiesse
One syringe of calcium hydroxylapatite, placed deep to rebuild structural support.
Radiesse is injected at our Miami practice by certified nurse practitioners under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist. During your consultation we assess where your face has lost bone and soft-tissue support, since Radiesse is thicker than hyaluronic acid filler and is placed deeper to rebuild that foundation. Treatment is planned around structure first — jawline, chin, cheeks — so the result reads as definition rather than added volume.

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler suspended in a gel carrier, which gives it both immediate lifting capacity and a second, slower effect. The gel provides structure the day it is placed, while the calcium microspheres stimulate collagen production that continues for months after the gel absorbs. It is used to define the jawline and chin, restore mid-face support, and treat volume loss in the hands, with results that typically last twelve to eighteen months.
Your nurse practitioner examines where facial support has been lost and decides whether Radiesse or a hyaluronic acid filler suits the correction.
Radiesse is placed deep against bone or in the lower dermis, depending on the area, and shaped by hand once injected.
The lifting effect is visible the same day. We see you back to assess the collagen response that continues over the following months.

One syringe of Radiesse is $750. A consultation is $50.
How many syringes you need depends on the area treated and how much support has been lost. Your nurse practitioner confirms the number at your assessment, so the full cost is set before treatment begins.

Hyaluronic acid filler is a soft gel that holds water and sits where it is placed. Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier, which makes it considerably firmer and better suited to rebuilding structure rather than adding softness.
It also works twice. The gel lifts immediately, and as it absorbs over several months the calcium microspheres stimulate your body to produce collagen in its place.

Radiesse is used where the face needs support rather than softness: the jawline, the chin, the pre-jowl hollows, and the mid-face where cheek projection has been lost. It is also used to restore volume to the back of the hands.
It is not used in the lips, and it is generally avoided immediately under the eyes, where a softer hyaluronic acid product is the better choice.

Most clients see results hold for twelve to eighteen months, though this varies with the area treated and how quickly your body metabolizes the product. Areas that move constantly tend to break it down faster.
Because part of the result is collagen your own body built, some improvement often persists past the point where the product itself has gone.

No. Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid filler, but it has no effect on calcium hydroxylapatite. Radiesse cannot be reversed and must be allowed to metabolize on its own.
This is precisely why placement matters, and why we assess conservatively before recommending Radiesse over a reversible product. If you want the option of reversal, we will suggest a hyaluronic acid filler instead.
+
Yes. Radiesse is often paired with Botox, which relaxes expression lines while Radiesse restores the underlying structure, and with hyaluronic acid filler in areas where a softer product is appropriate.
It also combines with Sculptra, though the two are usually staged across separate visits so each can be assessed on its own.
